María se percata que el vino se acabó y discretamente le dice a Jesús lo que ocurre. Entonces él pide llenar seis tinajas de piedra con agua, la que convierte en vino. Esto da inicio a las señales que manifestaban el poder de Dios a través de él.
En este pasaje el vino simboliza la alegría y el Espíritu Santo. La escena representa el primer milagro público que hace Jesús, en atención afectuosa a los pequeños detalles y a los goces sencillos del pueblo.19de 24 -
