Amparo and Manuel Foundation (AMMA) recognizes the importance and potential of art to improve people’s lives. It was founded in 2003 by Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía and Manuel Serrano Espinosa and is based in Mexico City, Mexico.
It houses a collection of contemporary art specializing in portraiture, consisting largely of works by some one hundred international artists who can now be discovered and appreciated in Mexico. As part of its outreach efforts, Amparo and Manuel Foundation organizes exhibitions that can be visited throughout the country and across the Americas, and also loans its works to institutions in Latin America and around the world.
The mobility of the artworks is very important, as it is the primary means of ensuring universal access to art and culture. AMMA Foundation carries out its work throughout the country in a decentralized manner.
