Shadi Al Atallah Arabia Saudita, b. 1994

Biography

Shadi Al‑Attallah was born in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, in 1994. He lives and works in London.

He graduated in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 2021.

Shadi often works on a large scale with vigorous brushstrokes. His portraits and self‑portraits convey the tension of emotional conflicts through softened, blurred features and a certain theatricality in their staging. His work explores themes of gender, sexuality, identity, and spirituality.
