Una mujer corpulenta, desnuda, en cuadrupedia, ocupa casi todo el cuadro (apaisado y de gran formato). Aunque enseña los dientes, el gesto no es exactamente una sonrisa, o si lo es transmite cierto desasosiego. Al fondo se distingue un mueble que inspira algo doméstico, quizá por su similitud con una cocina.


Shadi Al Atallah es célebre por sus pinturas en gran formato de figuras oscuras y dinámicas, normalmente implicadas en extrañas escenas. Su obra examina la relación entre la salud mental, el cuerpo y las prácticas espirituales. En sus autorretratos, que concibe como catárticos, hace referencia tanto a su infancia en Arabia Saudita como a la identidad mestiza e interseccional.
