Sid Avery photographed many of the Hollywood stars of the 1940s and 1950s. During the filming of Giant (George Stevens, 1955) at various locations in Texas, he portrayed the actors in intimate, everyday scenes, such as this one of Elizabeth Taylor touching up her makeup at a dressing table.
