    Compuesto a partir de papeles superpuestos, el retrato muestra a dos hombres posando junto a una tabla de surf en la orilla de una playa. El mar, la arena y una construcción lejana, quizá un espigón, configuran un fondo difuso, mientras que las figuras humanas resultan algo más esquemáticas.


    En su trabajo, Van Lieshout aborda temáticas sociopolíticas contemporáneas relacionadas con el multiculturalismo, la posición de las minorías y los migrantes, así como la sociedad de consumo moderna, expresándolas a menudo mediante collages y líneas fuertes que transmiten urgencia y violencia y desde un punto de vista personal, situándose en el entorno de la problemática como personaje activo que desencadena situaciones humorísticas o incómodas.
