Biography

Lives and works near Winchester, Hampshire, England.

He studied at Farnham Art School in 1983 and graduated in Ceramic Sculpture at Bristol Polytechnic in 1987. He was the first sculptor to win the Villiers David Prize in 1998.

Henry’s sculptures of contemporary figures in casual, everyday clothing, are frozen mid-motion or lost in moments of quiet reflection. He first models forms in clay, then casts them in bronze or ceramics and paints them in oil. His work is often exhibited in public places, some are permanent as in London, Oslo, Bad Homburg (Germany), and Michigan, USA, among other.

His solo exhibition highlights include Salisbury Cathedral, Wilthsire; Osborne Samuel Gallery, London; LKFF Art & Sculpture Projects, Brussels; Forum Gallery, New York; Galerie Andersson Sandstrom, Stockholm; Galerie Von Braunbehrens, Munich; Holdsworth Gallery, Sydney. Henry’s works belong to private and public collection such as the National Portrait Gallery, London; Cass Sculpture Foundation, Goodwood, England; Eschborn City Collection, Germany; ING Bank, Amsterdam; Stockholm City Collection, Stockholm; Seavest Collection, Florida, USA, among others.
