Portrait of a bearded, bare-chested man. The irregular edges of the support work in harmony with the effect that the watercolor creates on the model’s eyes—blurred in a green hue—and with the outlines of the beard and hair, which are also defined by the free flow of water on the paper.
Nadine is interested in depicting human complexity and the contradictions that exist within each individual. This psychological depth is technically conveyed through the free behavior of the pigments as they come into contact with water, in the successive application of layers of watercolor.
