Katja Farin Los Ángeles. EUA, b. 1996
Katja Farin lives and works in Los Angeles, where she was born in 1996.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, which awarded her the Hoyt Scholarship in 2017. In 2021, she completed a residency at Dumfries House, near Glasgow, and another at Dune Shack in Provincetown.
Katja Farin’s work is characterized by its ambiguity and moves between the mystical and the real; it draws on experiences of various kinds and portrays them with humor, in compositions in which all elements—from settings to objects and figures—are, in the artist’s words, “a screenshot of the current millennial moment.”
Her exhibitions include presentations at the Bureau of General Services–Queer Division in New York, Prior Art Space in Berlin, Galleria Era in Milan, In Lieu in Los Angeles, Lubov in New York, Eve Leibe in London, and The Pit in Palm Springs.
