Rebecca Brodskis Francia, b. 1988

Biography

Rebecca Brodskis lives and works in Paris.

She spent most of her childhood between France and Morocco. She studied painting at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris and at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, where she graduated in 2010. In 2015, she also completed a master’s degree in Sociology, focusing her research on issues of vulnerability and social crises.

Brodskis’s work explores the boundaries of the sensory world, moving between conscious and unconscious spaces in a reflection on existence, the self, and otherness. The idea of the in-between is central to her practice: the crossroads between empirical reality and imagination, order and disorder, materialism and spirituality, determinism and freedom.

Brodskis has exhibited in various galleries and institutions, including Kristin Hjellegjerde in Berlin, Cuturi in Singapore, Koenig zwei in Vienna, Fabienne Levy in Lausanne, Septième in Paris, Anna Marra in Rome, and Sputnik in Tel Aviv. Rebecca’s work can be found in collections such as Huma Kabaki; Alan Lo (Hong Kong); Museum Azman (Malaysia); Pamela and David Hornik (United States); Selebe Yoon (Senegal); The Bunker Artspace Museum (United States); Tiroche DeLeon (Israel); Zeifang (Germany); Xiao Hui Wang Art Museum Suzhou (China); W Art Foundation (China); and SUSU (China).
