La obra de Gary Hume retrata el contorno de una mujer sobre un fondo beige.
A Hume se le identifica con los Young Britsh Artists (YBA) conocidos por su estética simplificada y reduccionista la cual juega entre la línea de la abstracción y la representación. Su trabajo refleja un interés por el arte pop, mientras que al mismo tiempo presenta una reticencia de estilo y un matiz de color que no suele asociarse al movimiento.
