OT.- Adam and Eve in Paradise

GÉNESIS 2: 8-25

The scene depicts the harmony that existed at the time of Creation in the abode of the blessed known as Paradise, or the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve lived there in peace until a serpent—a symbol of hostility, deceit, and enmity—offered them the fruit of temptation. This fruit is represented as an apple from the tree God had forbidden them to approach, and from which they ultimately ate. Thus, the human condition is revealed as a state characterized by fragility and susceptibility.
