OT.- The Sacrifice of Abraham’s Son, Isaac
GÉNESIS 22: 1-19
God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac—a request Abraham accepted out of faith. This scene depicts the moment just before the difficult act was to be carried out; an angel appears and, because Abraham had yielded to God’s will and purpose, offers a lamb to be sacrificed in Isaac’s place, promising to multiply his descendants and his blessings.
The passage symbolizes how God rewards those who remain steadfast at a crucial moment and possess absolute faith in Him.
