Open a larger version of the following image in a popup: Antiguo Testamento CASA DE JACOB Y BENJAMÍN GÉNESIS 35: 16-26

OT.- The House of Jacob and Benjamin

    GÉNESIS 35: 16-26

Jacob, blessed by God with the name Israel, had twelve sons. One of them was born to Rachel, who died shortly after the birth—having named him Ben-Oni, meaning "son of my sorrow." Jacob preferred to call him Benjamin, interpreted as "son of my right hand" or "son of my strength." Both appear in this scene: Jacob with his youngest son, and a dog representing the value of faithfulness, marking the moment when Jacob—amidst the greatest pain of his life—chooses to believe in God once more.
