OT.- Moses Casts Down the Tablets
ÉXODUS 32: 15-24
When Moses descended from Mount Sinai with the tablets of the law written by God, he found the people in the camp singing and dancing around the calf. This angered him, and he cast the tablets to the ground, causing them to shatter. He burned and ground up the calf, mixed the dust with water, and made the Israelites drink it; he then spoke with Aaron about what had happened. The act of casting down the tablets signifies Moses’s acknowledgment that the people of Israel had broken their covenant with God.
