A nighttime exterior. A few small, Nordic-style houses with gabled roofs come into view. All of them have some element that is broken, warped, or hanging off its hinges, disrupting the serenity. Even the pavement has suffered damage.
Starting from representation, Ulf Puder’s paintings tend toward abstraction.
Chaos and calm are juxtaposed. The industrialization of human life—and the desolation it brings—is depicted through dilapidated architecture and landscapes with a dense atmosphere.
