A large-scale diptych portraying the intensity of a fight. Although it depicts a pillow fight and is painted in bright tones, this does not diminish the violence of the scene; on the contrary, it lends it a more jarring quality. From the pink cloud representing the battle emerge objects such as guns or items of clothing, as well as body fragments or faces expressing distress.
Marked by contemporary or pop references, Akos Ezer’s figures display limbs so elongated and intertwined that they ultimately occupy the entire surface of his paintings. Ezer’s work offers an approach to the lives of his contemporaries through characters that seem to have absorbed the distinctive markers of their time, set within an uncanny situation that results in a humorous effect.
