Amparo and Manuel Foundation (AMMA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture—through the National Institute of Anthropology and History and the Regional Museum of Puebla (MUReP)—presented the exhibition Nacimiento: Perspectives Through Time for the fourth time to mark MUReP’s 40th anniversary.

The exhibition featured the Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía Nativity scene, consisting of more than a thousand painted clay figures in a figurative-expressionist style, depicting 50 biblical passages from the Old and New Testaments. The scenes are rendered with expressive gestures, polychromatic color, realism, and dynamism.

This Nativity scene was created by the artisan Felipe Nieva (Orizaba, Veracruz) during the first half of the 20th century.

The exhibition was accompanied by a contemporary sound piece created specifically for the occasion by the artist Francisco Eme, as well as a photographic installation featuring the characters from the collection, which complemented the aesthetic experience.

AMMA Foundation presented this collection from a contemporary perspective, inviting visitors to reflect on the various views and perceptions that have existed over time regarding biblical events.
