Nativity: Glimpses Through Time (2017) : Mexiquense Bicentennial Cultural Center, State of Mexico - November 10, 2017 to February 4, 2018

Amparo and Manuel Foundation (AMMA), in collaboration with the Government of the State of Mexico through the Ministry of Culture and the Centro Cultural Mexiquense Bicentenario, presented the exhibition Nacimiento, Miradas en el tiempo in Texcoco, State of Mexico.

The exhibition features the Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía Nativity Scene, consisting of more than a thousand painted clay figures in a figurative-expressionist style, depicting 50 biblical passages from the Old and New Testaments.

This Nacimiento was created by the artisan Felipe Nieva (Orizaba, Veracruz) during the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition also featured two videos and a contemporary sound piece created specifically for the occasion by the artist Francisco Eme, as well as a photographic installation of the figures from the collection, all of which complemented the aesthetic experience.
