Nativity: Glimpses Through Time (2024)

From December 6, 2024, to January 4, 2025.

Amparo and Manuel Foundation presented the exhibition Nacimiento, Miradas en el Tiempo at the Palacio del Ayutamiento Cultural Center in the heart of San Luis Potosí.

The exhibition features a monumental Nativity scene composed of more than a thousand painted clay figures in a figurative-expressionist style, depicting 50 biblical passages from the Old and New Testaments. The scenes are rendered with expressive gestures, polychromatic color, realism, and dynamism.

The Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía Nativity scene was created by artisan Felipe Nieva (Veracruz, Mexico) during the first half of the 20th century. In this exhibition, it will be accompanied by a contemporary sound piece created by artist Francisco Eme, as well as a photographic installation featuring the figures from the collection, to complement the aesthetic experience.
