The creation of Virgencita Plis stands out as one of the most popular images in Mexico today among the many artistic reinterpretations of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the greatest icon of popular religiosity and Mexican identity. Amparín Serrano Espinosa, artist, designer, and director of Distroller, is the creator of a visually unique universe centered on the one-of-a-kind Virgencita Plis, and on this occasion, we delve into her creative process behind the "güananonli".

Amparín’s iconic character has transformed the way we envision one of the essential symbols of Mexican culture: Our Lady of Guadalupe.
