Sarah Lucas (London, 1962) is a leading artist of the Young British Artists (YBA) movement. Her work in sculpture, photography, and installation uses everyday objects—furniture, clothing, or food—to explore gender, sexuality, and the human condition through humor and subversion.
Amparo and Manuel Foundation’s collection includes the work TITIVILITIUM (2021), a piece that continues her series of soft sculptures on chairs begun in the 1990s (the famous "Bunnies"). Made from nylon stockings, wool, wire, shoes, and a metal chair, the work forms a fragmented body atop the furniture, where the tension between the fragility of the fabric and the rigidity of the structure presents the human form in a raw manner.
Currently, this work is part of The Life Force: Portraits from the Fundación Amparo y Manuel Collection, a traveling exhibition presented in collaboration with the Museum of Sex in New York (April 23–October 18, 2026).
