At the doors of a dark brick building, on the snowy road, stands a group of women. A man seems to address them, perhaps with the offer of the title. Despite the naive manners, the painting conveys a strong feeling of alarm, because what may be plants emerge from the pots flanking the staircase, but due to their fiery red color they look like flames.
