Retrato en tres cuarto de una mujer vestida de negro y peinada en estilo casual. Con expresión seria, en el rostro se reconoce el trazo tentativo, las pinceladas que recogen el momento concreto y fugitivo del posado.

La obra de Delhomme se caracteriza por la observación directa del sujeto. No está mediada por la fotografía y se ejecuta en sesiones de pintura únicas. Así captura el aquí y ahora. La experiencia reflexiva y solitaria de pintar lo real ha impuesto lentamente su ritmo e implacabilidad sobre el comentario social del estilo y la cultura.
