La cabeza de un perro azul con ojos amarillos y expresión ansiosa emerge sobre un fondo naranja de flores sencillas. Una línea del mismo color que las flores recorre la silueta del perro.


Si bien pintó paisajes, escenas y personajes de inspiración folclórica, el tema que hizo célebre a George Rodrigue fue el Blue Dog o Perro Azul que, inspirado en parte en su perro Tiffany y en parte en los mitos cajún, comenzó a pintar a mediados de la década de 1980. En innumerables cuadros en los que cambia el fondo y el entorno, Rodrigue replicó la figura del perro, azul y con los ojos amarillos, con expresión de alarma. La figura ha sido utilizada por distintas marcas y corporaciones para publicitar sus productos.
