The collection of Mexican designer and artist Amparín Serrano Espinosa—renowned for her unique visual universe, boundless creativity, and ability to connect with different generations through art and design—was launched in 2022 with the aim of recovering, preserving, and revitalizing her legacy.
This creative archive meticulously brings together her complete body of work—from her earliest childhood drawings to her most iconic characters—with the intention of preserving her legacy and paying tribute to her, while building a platform that allows her story to continue to be told and showcases the scope of her artistic vision to the world.
As part of this effort, the Amparo and Manuel Foundation is launching a series of exhibitions dedicated to the universe of characters created by Amparín, presenting for the first time previously unseen materials from her personal archive. Each exhibition is a celebration of her imagination and an invitation to discover the richness of her work from new perspectives.

Celebrating the life of Amparín
The artist Amparín Serrano Espinosa, born on October 31, 1965, described herself as a witch because of her constant connection to and relationship with the night, imagination, and creativity. Her mother, Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía, wrote a piece dedicated to her daughter Amparín. It recounts her birth on a very special day when witches fly together at night. In this piece, she mentions the gift with which Amparín was born—a gift that “…had a touch of magic and a great deal of imagination: she had the power to create universes and draw new worlds.”Amparo and Manuel Foundation shares an excerpt from this illustrated story featuring Halloween-themed characters created by the artist, in which the work and imagination of mother and daughter merge to create a magical universe. -

“THE DAY I WAS BORN IS SPECIAL BECAUSE WE WITCHES ARE ALWAYS FLYING AND WE DON’T LIKE TO COME DOWN TO EARTH. I’M A WITCH, BUT I FLY WITH MY IMAGINATION”.
