The artist Amparín Serrano Espinosa, born on October 31, 1965, described herself as a witch because of her constant connection to and relationship with the night, imagination, and creativity.
Her mother, Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía, wrote a piece dedicated to her daughter Amparín. It recounts her birth on a very special day when witches fly together at night. In this piece, she mentions the gift with which Amparín was born—a gift that “…had a touch of magic and a great deal of imagination: she had the power to create universes and draw new worlds.”
Amparo and Manuel Foundation shares an excerpt from this illustrated story featuring Halloween-themed characters created by the artist, in which the work and imagination of mother and daughter merge to create a magical universe.
