Grace Metzler Nueva York, EUA, b. 1989
Grace Metzler was born in 1989 in New York, where she lives and works.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University in Philadelphia, and a Master of Fine Arts from Hunter College in New York.
Metzler’s painting is marked by a certain ambiguity, both in its treatment and in its subject matter. While she composes scenes that appear initially placid, a closer look reveals an underlying sense of unease. Her reinterpretation of classical motifs is enriched by a dreamlike atmosphere. People and animals seem to exist in a moment of suspended reality.
Grace Metzler has presented solo and group exhibitions both in the United States and internationally, at venues such as Half Gallery in New York, V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, Taymour Grahne Projects in London, and Nunu in Taipei, among others.
