Retratada desde un punto de vista picado que casi alcanza lo cenital, la mujer del retrato, vestida de negro, aparece embebida en sus pensamientos, como ajena al ambiente circundante, donde hay también una planta y un cesto con tres frutas.


Ania Hobson se ha especializado en las perspectivas desafiantes como una característica particular de su obra. Trabaja normalmente con óleo, que aplica sobre los bocetos que toma de sus modelos. Sus retratados se suelen percibir como individuos atractivos de personalidad intensa.
