The Life Force: Intimate Portraits from the Amparo y Manuel Collection (2026): Museum of Sex - April and November 2026. Nueva York and Miami, USA
Fundación Amparo y Manuel presents, in collaboration with the Museum of Sex, the traveling exhibition Portraits from the Amparo y Manuel Collection, which will feature more than 40 works from the collection exploring the relationship between portraiture, the body, and eroticism.
The Life Force: Portraits from the Amparo y Manuel Foundation is an immersive exhibition that explores the human experience through large-scale figurative portraits. The exhibition delves into the duality between desire and mortality (Eros and Thanatos), presenting the body as a territory where vulnerability and intimacy emerge as acts of resistance in the face of the uncertainty of today’s complex world. Through figures that reveal their nudity and fragility, the exhibition invites viewers to recognize vitality and eroticism as essential forces that sustain life in times of crisis.
