The Life Force: Portraits from the Amparo and Manuel Collection (2026) Miami: Museum of Sex Miami - November 15, 2026, through August 22, 2027
November 15, 2026, through August 22, 2027.
Amparo and Manuel Foundation presents its second group exhibition in the United States, in collaboration with the Museum of Sex. The traveling exhibition The Life Force: Portraits from the Amparo and Manuel Foundation Collection features more than 40 works from the collection that explore the relationship between portraiture, the body, and eroticism.
The Life Force: Portraits from the Amparo and Manuel Foundation is an immersive exhibition that explores the human experience through large-scale figurative portraits. The exhibition delves into the duality between desire and mortality (Eros and Thanatos), presenting the body as a territory where vulnerability and intimacy emerge as acts of resistance in the face of the uncertainty of today’s complex world. Through figures that reveal their nakedness and fragility, the exhibition invites viewers to recognize vitality and eroticism as essential forces for sustaining life in times of crisis.
